Shape

With a width of 10.5" almost from nose to tail our longboard shape offers you enough space to cross-step up and down the full length of the board while maintaining total control of your ride. Despite a massive wheelbase of over 25" the width of the deck is putting so much leverage on any truck that the board is capable of offering spontaneous tigh turns and maneuvers to find your line.

A low concave with hardly any rocker and our cork top even improve the possibilites of hang tens, pirouettes and traveling up and down the board with graceful, simultaneously fluid footsteps.

Materials & Finishing

Our longboards are lightweight but highly robust surfskate decks with extra longevity and just the right amount of flex to pump and carve.Instead of using standard Canadian maple all of our longboard decks are produced from seven layers of regionally sourced premium maple. By sourcing premium materials locally we are reducing our carbon foot print, avoiding unnessecary transportation, and still producing products at a quality that matches industry standards. The print and cork top on our decks are water resistant and can easily be wiped clean with a brush or washcloth.

Griptape

Whether you are looking for an even more sensitive response of your board, for an enhanced training of your footwork or for a cruise around town in style — nothing else than a barefoot session will bring you closer to the true surfing experience.

Our longboards feature a highly durable cork top instead of classic griptape. The soft and grippy cork surface offers a perfectly comfortable and secure stance for skating barefooted. It can easily be cleaned with a wet brush or cloth.

Wheels

With our North Shore Wheels we not only put focus on grip and traction but also on controllable slides. A solid 50mm contact patch, high rebound and 3.5mm offset core offer you enough grip to pump these beauties to the max while staying confident in super tight maneuvers.

Our 78A Urethane formula and radiused edges create a smooth transition between grip and slip offering maximum control and predictable hook-ups during slides and snaps . With a diameter of 70mm you will not only effortlessly reach higher top speeds but also experience a maximum life span at minimal costs.

Youth Lagoon was founded with the awareness that every business also has a responsibility to promote the importance of social equity and ecological sustainability. We believe that respecting the men and women who make our products and to always doing the best to limit effectively our impact on the environment is natural and fundamental for a modern society and economy.

Our longterm aim is to produce entirely in Europe. We take care that products from Youth Lagoon which at this time cannot be sourced and produced regionally are always made under certified, fair working conditions, with the highest possible quality.

Artwork

A large part of our precious marine life but also many of the world’s most beautiful waves rely on the existence of coral reefs. With our special edition artwork "The Reef" we not only celebrate the beauty of coral reefs but also want to create awareness about their disappearance due to global warming. 

Youth Lagoon donates 1% of the order value made from any sale to the 50 Reefs Initiative — an organisation which aims to identify an optimum portfolio of reefs for targeting coral reef conservation. High Quality

The production of our longboard decks, North Shore wheels and skateboard bearings is fully handled by an industry leading German skateboard manufacurer.

An important part of our business model is to keep as many elements of the supply chain in Germany or Europe — not only to create products with an outstanding quality and longevity but also to assure that sourcing and working conditions are meeting German standards while producing outside of Europe. Our eco-friendly line of surfskate decks is already entirely 'Made in Germany'.

Conserving Nature

It is harder than one might think to create and sell products without leaving a foot print on our eco-system — we are just at the beginning. To drive change with every product sold in our shop we decided to fund selected organisations who are changing the future of conserving nature.

This year we have decided to donate 1% revenue (about 10% of our profit) to the 50 Reefs Initiative. 50 Reefs is helping to identify and preserve coral reefs which have a chance of surviving global warming.
